Our mission is to provide one voice and a coordinated approach for community technology in Nova Scotia through innovative services and programs.
When federal funding for the Community Access Program (CAP) ceased, related programming in all other provinces ceased with it. However, in Nova Scotia, the need to continue was recognized. With the support and encouragement of the Province of Nova Scotia- through the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage- those who had been involved with what was NSCAP embarked on a mission create a new organization that would continue the vision and hard work of NSCAP, while tackling and adapting to new challenges. @NS’s vision is to ensure that everyone uses technology effectively for individual and community well-being and growth. Our mission is to provide one voice and a coordinated approach for community technology in Nova Scotia through innovative services and programs.
Besides operating public access sites throughout the province, @NS receives and administers various grants that provide much need jobs and experience for youth, training for the general public and equipment to be used at various locations. @NS is inclusive, innovative, collaborative, community-focused, accountable and empowering.
